Do you sell tiles?
No. We're tilers — we install tiles, we don't sell them. You can buy tiles from any supplier (TileDirect, Mitre 10, specialist showrooms or online) and we'll install them. We're happy to advise on what to buy and how much.
How much do tilers charge in Christchurch?
Rates vary with experience and the type of work, and many tilers price per job rather than per hour. We give a free, itemised quote after measuring on site — see our tiling cost guide for the factors that affect price.
Is the quote really free?
Yes. We'll visit, measure, look at the substrate and talk through your ideas, then send a detailed no-obligation quote.
What areas do you cover?
Christchurch and its suburbs, Selwyn (Rolleston, Lincoln, Prebbleton, West Melton and surrounds), Waimakariri (Rangiora, Kaiapoi, Pegasus, Woodend) and further afield such as Ashburton by arrangement.
What is the 3-4-5 rule in tiling?
It's a quick way to check a corner is square: measure 3 units along one line and 4 along the other; if the diagonal between those points is exactly 5, the corner is 90°. Tilers use it to set out square layouts.
How many square metres can a tiler lay in a day?
It depends heavily on tile size, layout and preparation. Large tiles on an open floor go quickly; a small bathroom with niches and lots of cuts takes much longer per square metre.
Do you remove old tiles?
Yes. On renovations we remove old tiles and flooring and prepare the surface before tiling.
Do you waterproof showers?
Yes — every tiled shower and wet area gets a proper waterproofing membrane under the tiles. It's the single most important part of a bathroom.
Do you work for builders and commercial clients?
Yes. We tile new-build bathrooms and floors for builders and take on commercial work including offices, retail and hospitality.
What are your hours?
Monday to Friday 9:00am–6:00pm and Saturday 10:00am–3:00pm. We try to respond to enquiries outside these hours too.
